Accurate measurement of water flow is essential in the irrigation industry. With the NSW and QLD governments robust new metering framework AS4747 to improve the standard and coverage of non-urban water meters across the states commenced on 1 December 2018. The first stage commences on 1 December 2020, when all surface water pumps 500mm and above will need to have a meter that meets the new AS4747 metering standards. All new and replacement agricultural flow meters installed after 1 April 2019 must be pattern approved. If your current meter fails or won’t comply with the new regulatory requirements and it is +500mm for surface water it must be replaced with a Pattern approved meter before 1 December 2020.
